Percepções e práticas noturnas: um estudo de caso na Rua João Alfredo em Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como finalidade compreender a percepção dos grupos que frequentam a Rua João Alfredo no período da noite, no município de Porto Alegre/RS, baseado na subjetividade de suas vivências neste local em busca de diversão e confraternização, assim como entender a justificativa pela qual esta rua passou a ser referência para alguns indivíduos. A partir disso, visamos estabelecer uma conexão entre o espaço e as práticas sociais que originam territorialidades a partir do cotidiano e apropriações temporárias. A proposta metodológica adotou o uso de bibliografias, entrevistas semi-estruturadas, fotografias e cartografias, e permitiu analisar os dados a partir de uma perspectiva qualitativa, compreendendo diferentes concepções em relação à leitura da rua e modos de apropriação da mesma. Apoiando-se nesse arranjo, pode-se compreender os principais atrativos que a rua tem para seus frequentadores, desde laços afetivos criados com o lugar, consumo de bebidas sem a necessidade de permanecer no interior dos estabelecimentos, quanto ao sentimento de segurança proporcionada pela quantidade de pessoas no local. Deste modo, compreendemos que esse recorte do espaço urbano, Rua João Alfredo, é moldado a partir da apropriação temporária e das relações sociais que se sucedem ali, modificando a dinâmica e a paisagem noturna nos fins de semana.

This study aims to understand the perception of the groups that attend the Rua João Alfredo at night, in the city of Porto Alegre/RS, based on the subjectivity of their experiences in this place in search of fun and fraternization, as well as to understand why this street became a reference for some individuals. From this, we aim to establish a connection between space and social practices that originate territorialities from the everyday experiences and from temporary appropriations. The methodological proposal adopted the use of bibliographies, semi-structured interviews, photographs and cartographies and allowed us to analyze the data from a qualitative perspective, comprising different conceptions in relation to street reading and ways of appropriating it. Based on this arrangement, it were understood the main attractions that the street has for its goers, from affective ties created with the place, consumption of beverages without the need to stay inside the establishments, as well as the feeling of security provided by the amount of people in the place. In this way, we understand that this parcel of the urban space, Rua João Alfredo, is shaped by the temporary appropriation and the social relations that succeed there, modifying the dynamics and the nightscape at the weekends.
