Herói cantor

Abstract

A figura do herói é importante para compreender a sociedade grega, na qual Homero era protagonista, principal educador de várias gerações, especialmente de jovens aristocratas. No presente trabalho, investigou-se a imagem do herói grego nos poemas homéricos, sua importância para a sociedade grega pós-homérica e a influência sobre a educação do homem grego (Paideía). Em um segundo momento, foram examinados fragmentos onde se nota a importância do cantor e do canto para o mundo grego. O “herói cantor” tinha caráter divino e servia de referência para a o conjunto de comportamentos celebrados na ética heroica. Ele ocupa a parte final deste trabalho, juntamente com as Musas e a história que é transmitida por ambos.

The figure of the hero is important to understand ancient Greek society, in which Homer was protagonist, main educator of several generations, especially of young aristocrats. In the present work, the image of the Greek hero in the Homeric poems, their importance for the post-Homeric Greek society and the influence on the education of the Greek man (Paideia) was investigated. In a second moment, it examined fragments where one notices the importance of the singer and the song to the ancient Greek world. The "hero singer" had a divine character and served as a reference for the set of behaviors celebrated in heroic ethics; he occupies the final part of this work, along with the Muses and the story that is conveyed by both.
