| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | This work was elaborated considering the concept of the “logic of two level games” of Robert Putnam, emphasizing the internal and external determinants of the foreign policy of the case studies: Argentina, Brazil and Chile, which had developed a sociological and political cinema characterized by the opposition to capitalism, to the U.S. and European imperialism, and to the military dictatorships emerged in the Southern Cone during the 1960’s and the 1970’s. The main sources used along the research refer to academic works in the field of international relations, cinema, sociology and economics, besides the own filmmakers’ films and manifestos of the period analyzed as primary sources. It was realized through an historical- descriptive analysis which, first, analyzed the Cuban Revolution, the Latin America international relations of the 1960’s, as well as the Nuevo Cine Latino-Americano; secondly, the three case studies were analyzed applying the same method. The conclusion is that exists a connection between the Cuban revolutionary ideas, which expanded internationally during the decade in study, the so-called New Cinemas, with the emergence of new types of cinematography with Cuban-related themes intrinsically associated to the model which had been implanted in Cuba, such as land reform, better life, health and education, all of them lacking in the three case studies analyzed and most of their population was not aware of their own underdevelopment condition and dependence of the great powers, that is because of the high level of alienation of the mainstream commercial film industry, mostly from the United States. | en |
