Família e escola : encontros e desencontros, desafios e possibilidades

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender a relação família-escola, por meio de uma revisão não sistemática da literatura sobre esse assunto. Ambos os contextos são fundamentais para o desenvolvimento humano e têm diferentes funções no que diz respeito à socialização e à educação das crianças e dos adolescentes. Inicialmente, revisam-se alguns aspectos históricos referentes a mudanças ocorridas nesses dois contextos ao longo do tempo. A seguir, considerando-se essas diversas mudanças ocorridas tanto na família quanto na escola, questiona-se a ideia de que, atualmente, haveria uma crise na família. Por fim, apresentam-se algumas das principais dificuldades, assim como vantagens e possibilidades de uma maior aproximação entre família e escola.

This study has as its goal to understand the family–school relation, by way of a non-systematic review of the literature on this topic. Both contexts are fundamental to human development and have different functions with respect to the socialization and education of children and adolescents. Some historical facts relevant to the changes that have occurred in these two contexts over time will first be discussed. Subsequently, based on the various changes that have taken place both within the family and at school, the idea that currently there is a crisis in the family will be questioned. Finally, some of the principle difficulties will be presented, together with the advantages and possibilities of a greater approximation between home and school.
