Patentes concedidas no Brasil em Ciências Agrárias indexadas na base Derwent Innovations Index

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa a produção de patentes concedidas no Brasil em Ciências Agrárias indexadas na Derwent Innovations Index entre 1973 a 2015. A metodologia utilizada caracterizou-se de abordagem quantitativa a partir de uma perspectiva patentométrica. A pesquisa recuperou um total de 32.736 documentos nos quais constatou-se que 2008 foi o ano com o maior número de depósitos. As maiores taxas de crescimento ocorreram em 1974 (2000%), 1975 (800%) e mais recente em 2015 (151,8%). O assunto de maior ocorrência, a partir da Classificação Internacional de Patentes, foi A01N (conservação de corpos de seres humanos ou animais ou plantas ou partes dos mesmos; biocidas; repelentes ou atrativos de pestes; e reguladores do crescimento de plantas) que representou 33,89% dos documentos. A maioria das patentes estão indexadas na seção "A - necessidades humanas", o total de documentos nessa categoria corresponde a aproximadamente 74% dos assuntos identificados. Os depositantes foram identificados e categorizados em pessoa física, pessoa jurídica ou ambos. A maioria dos depositantes analisados são da categoria pessoa jurídica (60%), seguido por "ambos" (23,5%) e por fim, pessoa física (15,8%). A Bayer AG, Bayer Cropsciene e Basf AG foram as empresas identificadas com o maior número de depósitos de patentes.

It analyzes the production of patents granted in Brazil in Agricultural Sciences indexed in the Derwent Innovations Index between 1973 and 2015. The methodology used was characterized by a quantitative approach from a patentometric perspective. After the examination of 32,736 documents, it was verified that 2008 was the year with the largest number of deposits. The highest growth rates occurred in 1974 (2000%), 1975 (800%) and most recent in 2015 (151.8%). The highest occurrence from the International Patent Classification was A01N (conservation of human or animal bodies or plants or parts thereof, biocides, repellents or attractants of pests, and plant growth regulators) which represented 33 , 89% of the documents. Most patents are indexed in the section "A - human necessities", the total of documents in this category corresponds to approximately 74% of the subjects identified. The depositants have been identified and categorized in: individual, legal entity or both. Most of the analyzed depositants are from the legal category (60%), followed by "both" (23.5%) and finally, individual (15.8%). Bayer AG, Bayer Cropsciene and Basf AG were the companies identified with the largest number of patent deposits.
