Do feudalismo ao capitalismo : diferenças e divergências no debate marxista e outros desdobramentos

Abstract

O tema deste Trabalho de Conclusão de curso gira em torno dos principais debates historiográficos acerca da transição do feudalismo para o capitalismo e do modo como os autores envolvidos do debate marxista avaliam o grau de influência de fatores internos e externos no desmantelamento e gênese dos modos de produção feudal e capitalista, respectivamente. Por debate marxista, refiro-me à série de debates que se deram na década de 1950 e seus desdobramentos, entre os quais estão incluídos os intelectuais Maurice Dobb e Paul Sweezy, em cujas teses focarei este trabalho, contrastando-as. Ambos os autores têm pontos em comum acordo, porém, ao mesmo tempo, divergências com relação à força do papel do comércio e das cidades e suas influências como fatores desagregadores do feudalismo, e como influenciadores da gênese do capitalismo. Este trabalho focará no debate que envolve pesquisadores marxistas, e nesse sentido, é este o viés interpretativo que usarei para obter aporte e sustento na compreensão dos autores estudados, e respaldo teórico no desenvolvimento deste trabalho. Além disso, serão apresentados outros desdobramentos das análises marxistas, por meio de debates que têm início já na década de 40, e que apresentam repercussões até os dias de hoje Para destacar a importância desse debate marxista, e, mais especificamente, da relevância de se abordar os fatores internos e externos aos modos de produção, retomarei as primeiras produções da historiografia marxista nos anos 40 e o debate na revista Past and Present nos anos de 1950, central para as discussões posteriores que se darão durante a segunda metade do século XX. Também acompanharei essas discussões posteriores dentro do que ficou conhecido como Debate Brenner, assim como alguns desdobramentos contemporâneos que demonstram que essa questão ainda é objeto de estudo e de discussão atualmente, o que justifica a importância do estudo da temática deste trabalho.

The subject of this final course conclusion paper revolves around the main historiographical debates about the feudalism to capitalism transition and how the authors involved in the marxist debate evaluate the degree of influence of internal and external factors in dismantling and genesis of feudal and capitalist modes of production, respectively. By Marxist debate, I refer to the series of debates that occurred in the 1950s and its' developments, among which are included the intellectuals Maurice Dobb and Paul Sweezy, in which whose theses this work will be focused, contrasting both. Both authors have points in common agreement, but at the same time, differences regarding the influence of the role of commerce and cities and their influence as disruptive factors in feudalism, and in the genesis of capitalism. This work will focus on the debate involving marxist researchers, and in that sense, this is the interpretive bias that I will use to get input and support in understanding the studied authors and theoretical support in the development of this work. Besides, other developments of marxist analysis will be presented through debates that begin already in the 40s, and which still have repercussions nowadays To highlight the importance of this Marxist debate, and more specifically, the relevance of approaching the internal and external factors of production modes, the first productions of Marxist historiography in the 40s will be taken up and also the debate in Past and Present magazine in the 1950s, central to the subsequent discussions that were given during the second half of the twentieth century. These subsequent discussions will also be followed within what has been known as Brenner Debate, as well as some contemporary developments that show that this question is still an object of study and currently under discussion, which explains the importance of studying the theme of this work.
