Cólica do lactente : uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Abstract

A cólica é uma das queixas mais comuns na puericultura. É essencial para os profissionais de enfermagem compreender como aliviar a dor e lidar com lactentes que choram excessivamente, bem como com a ansiedade dos pais que não sabem como amenizar a situação; contudo, o cuidado ainda é falho na assistência à criança e à sua família. O presente estudo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa que como objetivo identificar o que está descrito na literatura sobre a cólica do lactente, assim como os métodos utilizados para promover o alívio da dor. O estudo contou com uma amostra de nove artigos inseridos nas bases de dados Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) e PubMed, publicados entre os anos de 2005 e 2015, nos idiomas português, espanhol e inglês. A análise dos dados demonstra que algumas intervenções não farmacológicas, como a massagem, a modificação da dieta, a intervenção comportamental e o apoio às famílias realizado pelo enfermeiro mostraram-se eficazes no manejo da criança com cólica. Esta revisão da literatura aponta para a escassez de estudos atuais, tanto Brasileiros quanto internacionais, a respeito do tema, havendo necessidade de estudos futuros para melhor manejo da cólica do lactente.

Colic is one of the most common complaints on childcare. The infant cries excessively, and understand how to relieve the pain and deal with the anxiety of parents who often do not know how to soften it, it is essential for nursing professionals, care that is still neglected in assistance to children and their families. This study deals with an integrative review that aims to identify what is described in the literature on colic in infants, as well as the methods used to promote pain relief. The study included a sample of nine articles entered in the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and PubMed, published between the years of 2005 and 2015, in Portuguese, Spanish and English. The data analysis shows that some interventions, such as massage, dietary modification, behavioral intervention and support for families performed by nurses, have shown to be effective in the management of children with colic. This literature review points to the lack of recent studies, both brazilian and international, around this subject, and the need for future studies to better management of infant colic.
