Relação entre desempenho, velocidade de realização e duração da graduação : o caso dos egressos de 2014 de Ciências Contábeis da UFRGS

Abstract

O tempo é hoje um dos recursos mais importantes e, por isso, é comum a preocupação dos alunos com a sua data de graduação. Assim, o presente estudo tem por objetivo entender a relação entre o desempenho, a velocidade de realização e a duração da graduação. Esta pesquisa pode ser definida como um estudo de caso e uma pesquisa descritiva e quantitativa, com uma coleta de dados por levantamento documental. Os dados utilizados são da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, fornecidos pela Comissão de Graduação do Curso de Ciências Contábeis. A partir dos dados, planilhas elaboradas permitiram a formulação de tabelas e análises. As três variáveis exploradas neste estudo são o desempenho, o número de matrículas por semestre e o tempo até a formatura. Como resultado, pode-se concluir que quanto maior o número de matrículas por semestre, menor o tempo de graduação. Quanto menor o número de matrículas por semestre, melhor o desempenho. Quanto menor o tempo de graduação, melhor o desempenho. Todavia, os alunos que se formaram em até oito semestres apresentaram comportamento distinto do total da população. Esses alunos mantiveram um desempenho alto, mesmo com a média de disciplinas por semestre alta. Tal diferença possivelmente encontra-se no comportamento de cada pessoa, o que não foi possível de analisar nesta pesquisa, além de não ser o objeto de estudo.

Nowadays, time is one of the most important resources, thus, it is natural that students worry about the graduation’s date. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to understand the relation between performance, speed of accomplishment and graduation length. This research is a case study and classified as quantitative and descriptive, with a documentary survey as data collection technique. The used data are from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, provided by the Accounting Graduation Commission. From the data, spreadsheets have allowed the creation of tables and analysis. The three variables explored in this study are the performance, the number of subjects per semester and the time until graduation. As a result, it is possible to conclude that the higher the number of subjects per semester, the lower the graduation length. The lower the number of subjects per semester, the higher the performance. The lower the graduation length, the higher the performance. However, the students that have graduated in up to eight semesters have shown different behavior of the total population. These students kept a high performance, although the high average of subjects per semester. This difference is possibly lying on each person’s behavior, which was not possible to analyze in this research, in addiction of not being object of this study.
