O bibliocausto nazista: a destruição de livros judaicos durante o Terceiro Reich

Abstract

Analisa a destruição de livros judaicos realizada pelos nazistas durante o Terceiro Reich. O método utilizado para a realização do presente trabalho foi o da pesquisa bibliográfica. Investiga o povo judeu desde o surgimento da religião, a expulsão de sua terra seguida da dispersão dos mesmos pela Europa e a situação pela qual passaram na Alemanha no período entre guerras. Descreve o contexto histórico e político alemão durante o estabelecimento da República de Weimar e como a crise econômica abriu caminho para a ditadura nazista. Fala sobre o surgimento do partido nazista, sobre a construção da sua ideologia e sobre a sua chegada ao poder. Sonda a maneira e os meios utilizados para a criação e a propagação do antissemitismo na Alemanha, explicando como foi possível o preconceito contra os judeus ter tomado tamanha proporção. Conceitua a censura mostrando a como a principal ferramenta de controle utilizada principalmente pelos regimes políticos ditatoriais. Aponta o início das queimas de livros na Alemanha, sob a organização de estudantes, mostra como o Ministro da Propaganda Joseph Goebbels aprovou e incentivou fortemente os atos, e o que a queima representou para as bibliotecas públicas e privadas e para os bibliotecários do país. Apresenta o Ministro Rosenberg e sua operação oficial de saques e destruição de livros realizados nos territórios ocupados pela Alemanha durante o Terceiro Reich. Destaca os casos dos Sudetos, Polônia, Países Bálticos e União Soviética, que são os quatro territórios que mais sofreram com a violência e a perda de seu patrimônio cultural pelos nazistas.

It analyzes the destruction of the Jewish book held by the Nazis during the Third Reich. The method used to carry out this work was the bibliographic research. Investigates the Jewish people since the rising of the religion, the expulsion from your home land and their dispersion by the Europe and the situation they passed in Germany in the interwar period. Describes the German historic and political context during the establishment of Weimar’s Republic and how the economic crisis opened the gates to the Nazi dictatorship. It talks about the rise of the Nazi Party, about the construction of their ideology and their coming to power. Probe the way and the means used to create and to spread the anti-Semitism in Germany, explaining how it was possible that the prejudice against the Jews have taken such proportions. It conceptualizes the censorship showing it as the main control tool used mainly by the dictatorial political regimes. Points to the start of the book burnings in Germany, under the organization of students, shows how the Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, approved and strongly encouraged the acts, and what the burning represented for the public and private libraries and for the librarians of the country. It introduces the Minister Rosenberg and his official operation of loot and destruction of books held in territories occupied by Germany during the Third Reich. It highlights the cases of Sudeten, Poland, the Baltic States and the Soviet Union, which are the four territories that suffered most with the violence and the loss of their cultural heritage by the Nazis.
