A infertilidade é um problema vivido por 278 mil casais brasileiros em idade fértil. A infertilidade é um problema vivido por 278 mil casais brasileiros em idade fértil. Não conseguir gerar um filho, quando o casal deseja, pode provocar sentimentos de apreensão, ansiedade, tensão, frustração, culpa e angústia, além de atitudes de desespero, decorrentes das exigências culturais. Em 2005, no Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HC), iniciou as consultas de enfermagem ao casal infértil, num modelo de sistematização proposto por uma aluna de enfermagem em seu trabalho de conclusão de curso. Neste estudo, houve a recomendação de avaliação deste atendimento. A partir disso, surgiu a motivação em realizar uma pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória descritiva, que tem como objetivo conhecer a opinião de casais inférteis sobre a consulta de enfermagem, no setor de Reprodução Assistida. Foram entrevistados 20 casais, através de entrevistas semi-estruturadas. As informações foram analisadas segundo a Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin e surgiram as categorias: momento de informação e esclarecimento de dúvidas e momento de cuidado. O resultado do estudo revelou o quanto a consulta de enfermagem ao casal infértil é considerada importante, demonstrando que a enfermeira desempenha essencial função na equipe do setor de reprodução assistida do HC. ...
