The arsenic determination in fish has great interest in analytical chemistry due to potential toxicity of this element to human health. In this work, the feasibility of its determination in fish using SS-GF AAS was investigated. The pyrolysis and atomization temperatures of 1200 ºC and 2400 °C were defined, respectively. The chemical modifier used was 0.1% Pd + 0.06% Mg + 0.06% Triton X-100. Calibration was performed with aqueous standards. The parameters of merit obtained were: characteristic mass (29 pg) and limit of detection (0.1 μg g-1). The proposed method is simple, fast and suitable for routine analysis. A comparison of de results abtained by digestion method showed no significant differences between the results at the 95% confidence level.en
