Esta monografia tem como tema central o estudo da importância do exercício da advocacia para construção de redes de controle e dominação política nas relações de poder marcadas pelas práticas coronelistas características da Primeira República (1889 a 1930) no Brasil. Como objeto específico, analisamos a articulação entre a prática política e a advocacia do futuro presidente brasileiro Getúlio Dornelles Vargas (1882- 1954), constituída na cidade de São Borja, no interior do Rio Grande do Sul, entre os anos 1909 e 1923, tendo como base a percepção das relações de poder que perpassam a sua prática e que propiciaram ao jovem advogado a construção de uma rede de relações que o levariam a condição de líder político regional. This monograph is focused on the study of the importance of the practice of law for construction of political control and domination networks in power relations marked by coronelista practical features of the First Republic (1889-1930) in Brazil. The specific purpose, we analyze the relationship between political practice and advocacy of the future Brazilian president Getúlio Dornelles Vargas (1882-1954), established in São Borja, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, between 1909 and 1923, and based on the perception of power relations that underlie their practice and that provided the young lawyer to build a network of relationships that would lead to the condition of regional political leader. We will focus on the importance and uses of law as political domination feature on a model of the transition environment of military traditional leaders to politicians who required other tools and legitimization settings to maintain and expand their power. ...
