Em ambientes aquáticos encontram-se diferentes populações de leveduras que constituem uma comunidade altamente diversa. Nesta comunidade, entre as espécies encontradas, há patógenos oportunistas associados a doenças humanas. Muitas das espécies causam infecções invasivas podendo apresentar risco de morte. Além disso, tem sido relatado um número cada vez maior de microorganismos resistentes aos antifúngicos mais utilizados na clínica. As actinobacterias são conhecidas pela expressiva produção de metabólitos secundários, podendo ser uma fonte de novos antifúngicos com atividade contra leveduras patogênicas e resistentes. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi avaliar a ação antifúngica de extratos produzidos pelos isolados de actinomicetos R18(6), 6(2) e 6(4), no controle do crescimento de nove isolados de leveduras de ambiente aquático. Realizou-se o teste de difusão dos metabólitos de actinomicetos adicionando-se 100 μL em poços de 9 mm em placas de cultivo, e foi avaliada a formação de halos de inibição de crescimento das leveduras. Após foi realizado o teste da concentração inibitória mínima (CIM) com os extratos centrifugados e extratos brutos, assim chamados após ter sido feita uma extração com acetato de etila. Compostos resultantes do metabolismo do isolado R18(6) inibiram 73% do total de leveduras no teste de difusão em ágar e duas delas (18%) foram inibidas pelos compostos presentes nos extratos obtidos dos três isolados de actinomicetos. Todas as leveduras testadas apresentaram halos de inibição para pelo menos um dos extratos utilizados. O isolado R18(6) apresentou melhor inibição no CIM com o extrato centrifugado, enquanto os isolados 6(4) e 6(2) foram mais efetivos com os extratos brutos, inibindo todas as leveduras testadas em pelo menos uma das concentrações do CIM. Foi observado que os extratos de actinomicetos possuem compostos com atividade antimicrobiana às leveduras de ambiente aquático testadas neste estudo. ...
