Os eventos adversos pós-procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista são uma realidade, embora poucas publicações sejam dedicadas a eles. Os eventos adversos pós-procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista são uma realidade, embora poucas publicações sejam dedicadas a eles. Foi realizado um estudo em um hospital universitário com o objetivo de avaliar reações relatadas pelos pacientes após procedimentos de cardiologia intervencionista. O delineamento foi do tipo exploratório descritivo com análise quantitativa dos dados. A coleta foi realizada através de questionário estruturado com perguntas fechadas entregues a 201 pacientes após a realização do procedimento. Destes, 95 (47%) retornaram. A equimose em região inguinal foi a reação mais freqüente com 57 (60%) casos, seguida de dor no local da punção em 47(49%). Calafrios e sangramento foram referidos em 10 (10%) casos, febre e secreção amarelada foram referidas em 5 (5%). Secreção purulenta não foi relatada e 20 (21%) indivíduos informaram não terem sentido nenhum sintoma. A incidência de infecção de 1% foi suspeita pelo tipo de relato de sintomas de um dos pacientes. Porém se considerados indícios como secreção amarelada, poder-se-ia inferir até 5% de infecções. Mesmo obtendo-se resultados satisfatórios relacionados à incidência de infecção, deve-se estar sempre atento, pois para garantir a segurança desses processos não se pode apenas observar resultados, mas também implementar protocolos formais e criar indicadores de processo que assegurem o acompanhamento de falhas eventuais. ...
