A entrevista integra o projeto Garimpando Memórias e teve como tema central o envolvimento e a carreira dos entrevistados com o vôlei no Rio grande do Sul, RS. Os três irmãos começaram no esporte no final da década de 1950 na Sociedade Ginástica Navegantes - São João em Porto Alegre, RS, e também jogaram pelo Grêmio Náutico Gaúcho. Júlio César Volpi participou da Universíade 1963. Valmy Volpi jogou no Grêmio Football Porto-Alegrense e na seleção brasileira de vôlei. Marco Antônio Volpi integrou a seleção gaúcha de vôlei e a seleção brasileira de vôlei, sendo um dos atletas a participar dos Jogos Olímpicos de Tóquio (1964) e dos Jogos Olímpicos da Cidade do México (1968). O projeto é desenvolvido pelo Grupo de Estudos sobre Esporte, Cultura e História (GRECCO) vinculado ao Centro de Memória do Esporte.
