Este trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de analisar o consumo de informação jornalística de esportes por parte da geração Y. Este trabalho foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de analisar o consumo de informação jornalística de esportes por parte da geração Y. Realizou-se doze entrevistas em profundidade com jovens universitários de Porto Alegre pertencentes à geração Y, conforme critérios expostos na literatura sobre esse tema. Os dados coletados foram analisados qualitativamente sob a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Como resultado, foram identificadas algumas motivações dos jovens para o consumo de informações esportivas, tais como: o prazer de estarem informados sobre o tema que gostam, a sociabilização proporcionada pelo conhecimento do conteúdo, o sentimento de afeto aos clubes e atletas para os quais torcem, o entretenimento e a emoção resultante da interação com as informações. Verificou-se que a internet é o principal meio de comunicação utilizado pelos jovens entrevistados para o consumo de informação jornalística de esportes, seguida, respectivamente, da televisão e rádio. Os meios impressos apresentaram pouca expressividade, principalmente a revista. Também, foram identificados os veículos de comunicação mais utilizados pelos jovens, dos quais, os principais pertencem a grandes empresas de mídia que atuam em mais de um meio de comunicação. ...
