Garimpando memórias : primórdios da ginástica rítmica no Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

A Ginástica Rítmica é um esporte oficialmente praticado somente por mulheres, desde o final da Iª Guerra Mundial, porém sem as regras e os métodos específicos que conhecemos hoje. Ao longo de sua evolução, diferentes correntes pedagógicas e importantes professores contribuíram para o desenvolvimento da modalidade. No Brasil a Ginástica Rítmica vem sendo desenvolvida desde 1953 quando Chegou ao país a professora austríaca Margareth Frohlich. No mesmo ano a também recém chegada Ilona Peuker funda o Grupo Unido de Ginastas (GUG) no estado do Rio de Janeiro, que tinha como objetivo auxiliar no processo de massificação da modalidade pelo país. No RS temos poucos trabalhos publicados sobre o início dessa prática. Buscando reconstruir essa história, esse trabalho utiliza-se do aporte teórico e metodológico do projeto Garimpando Memórias do Centro de Memória do Esporte buscando dar voz às protagonistas responsáveis pela difusão da GR em nosso estado. Como parte das informações pesquisadas, podemos levantar espaços em que a modalidade era praticada e apontar especificidades dos anos de 1972 a 1979, ajudando o projeto Garimpando Memórias a continuar contando as muitas histórias dos esportes e práticas corporais no RS.

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport practiced officially only by women since the end of World War I, but without the rules and the specific methods that we know today. Throughout its evolution, different pedagogical lines and important teachers contribu ted to the development of the sport. In Brazil, the Rhythmic Gymnastics has been in development since 1953 when the Austrian teacher Margaret Frohlich arrived at the country. The same year the newcomer Ilona Peuker also founded the Grupo Unido de Ginastas (GUG- United Group of Gymnasts) in Rio de Janeiro, which aimed to assist in the process of mass sport in the country. In the RS there are few papers on the initiation of this practice. Seeking to reconstruct this history, this essay makes use of the theoretical and methodological of the Garimpando Memórias project of the Centro de Memória do Esporte (Panning Memory project of Sports Memory Center) seeking to give voice to the protagonists responsible for the spread of Rhythmic Gymnastics in our state. As part of the surveyed information, we can raise the spaces where the sport was practiced and point specificities of the years 1972 to 1979, helping the project Panning Memories to continue telling the many stories of sports and bodily practices in RS.
