A centralidade da questão social para o serviço social brasileiro

Abstract

O artigo discute a questão social como um dos fundamentos do Serviço Social Brasileiro e, por conseguinte, a sua vívida e hodierna centralidade para a formação e para o trabalho profissional, a partir das reflexões que têm embasado o Grupo Temático de Pesquisa (GTP) Fundamentos, Formação e Trabalho Profissional, da ABEPSS. Ancorada no materialismo histórico e dialético, a produção é oriunda de levantamento bibliográfico e documental e apresenta análises que evidenciam o quão imperativo é o fortalecimento dessa perspectiva em tempos marcados pelo avanço das tendências conservadoras e a ampliação das discussões acerca da relação orgânica entre questão social e Serviço Social, de modo a incorporarmos permanentemente suas determinações e conformações decorrentes das especificidades do momento histórico.

The article discusses the social issue as one of the foundations of the Brazilian Social Work and, therefore, its vivid and current centrality for training and professional work, based on the reflections that have supported the Thematic Research Group (TRG) on Foundation, Training, and Professional Work, from ABEPSS. Anchored in historical and dialectical materialism, the production comes from a bibliographic and documentary survey and presents analyzes that show how imperative it is to strengthenthis perspective in times marked by the advance of conservative trends and the expansion of discussions about the organic relationship between social and Social Work, to permanently incorporate its determinations and conformations resulting from the specificities of the historical moment.
