Fatores que influenciam o vocabulário nas obras literárias brasileiras : uma análise dos termos típicos do Rio Grande do Sul encontrados no livro O Continente de Érico Veríssimo

Abstract

Apresenta um estudo bibliográfico sobre as variações terminológicas encontradas nos livros da literatura brasileira editados até meados do século XX. Enfatiza os termos típicos do Rio Grande do Sul que fazem parte da terminologia do livro O Continente I do escritor gaúcho Érico Veríssimo. Contextualiza o leitor como foco das ações de incentivo à leitura, alguns aspectos do desenvolvimento da literatura brasileira e do regionalismo, por serem assuntos que corroboram este estudo. Aborda a área da Linguística e da Sociolinguística, com ênfase para a Teoria Variacionista, por explicar as variações que caracterizam os termos típicos gaúchos. Disserta sobre a área da Terminologia e da Socioterminologia, por serem parâmetros para este estudo. Utiliza como metodologia um estudo bibliográfico e terminológico, sendo uma pesquisa qualitativa de natureza básica e de abordagem exploratória. Analisa 25 (vinte e cinco) termos típicos gaúchos que foram coletados do livro O Continente I. Ressalta que, alguns termos típicos não são encontrados em dicionários da língua portuguesa; outros estão sob a forma de variantes; existem, ainda, aqueles que são encontrados com significado totalmente diferente se incluído no contexto do livro. Conclui que existe variação diatópica em todos os termos e diacrônica em parte deles, que são fatores que influenciam no vocabulário das obras.

It presents a bibliographical study about the terminological variations found in the books of Brazilian literature published until the middle of the twentieth century. Emphasizes the typical terms of Rio Grande do Sul that are part of the terminology of the book O Continente I by the gaucho writer Érico Veríssimo. It contextualizes the reader as the focus of actions to encourage reading, some aspects of the development of Brazilian literature and regionalism, as these are subjects that corroborate this study. It approaches the area of Linguistics and Sociolinguistics, with emphasis on Variation Theory, by explaining the variations that characterize the typical Gaucho terms. She talks about the area of Terminology and Sociothermology, as they are parameters for this study. It uses as methodology a bibliographic and terminological study, being a qualitative research of basic nature and exploratory approach. It analyzes 25 (twenty-five) typical Gaucho terms that were collected from the book The Continent I. It points out that some typical terms are not found in dictionaries of the Portuguese language; others are in the form of variants; There are also those that are found to have a totally different meaning if included in the context of the book. It concludes that there is diatopic variation in all terms and diachronic variation in part, which are factors that influence the vocabulary of the works.
