Presenting localized aggressive nature, high rates of recurrence and histopathological characteristics distinct from other cystic lesions, being considered a benign cystic neoplasm. Due to the high capacity of recurrence numerous treatments have been described in the literature, from radical to conservative techniques. Given the lack of consensus among authors, the objective is to perform a literature review of the main finds about keratocystic odontogenic tumour, including classification, kinds of treatment, recurrence rates, clinical, histopathological and radiographic characteristics and adequate follow-up time. ...
