As mulheres no cenário do associativismo esportivo em Porto Alegre/RS na transição do século XIX para o XX : alternativas de sociabilidade e lazer para elas

Abstract

Tecendo significativas atuações na capital rio-grandense, as mulheres produziram diversas representações femininas nas práticas esportivas. Por ser o esporte um universo originalmente masculino, reproduz de forma adequada as tensões, lutas e reivindicações femininas para integrarem de forma igualitária os papéis sociais definidos entre homens e mulheres no espaço social. Este estudo mostra o trajeto percorrido pelas mulheres no cenário esportivo de Porto Alegre, onde oscilaram de espectadoras a protagonistas. Tendo como objetivo identificar os diferentes modos assumidos pelas mulheres na construção do associativismo esportivo porto-alegrense no fim do século XIX ao início do século XX. Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram a pesquisa bibliográfica e a coleta de informações em fontes históricas, como o Catálogo da Revista do Globo e o Atlas do Esporte no Brasil e o Atlas do Esporte no Rio Grande do Sul.

Building expressive actuations in the Rio Grande do Sul´s capital, women have produced lots of feminine representations in sportive practices. Since sport constitutes an originally masculine universe, it reproduces suitably the tensions, conflicts and feminine claiming to integrate equally the social roles defined between men and women in the social space. This study shows the course passed through by the women in Porto Alegre´s sportive scenery, where they have oscillated from spectators to protagonists. The aim was to identify the different modes assumed by the women in the construction of Porto Alegre´s sportive associations in the end of the XIXth century to the beginning of the XXth century. The methodological proceedings adopted were a bibliographic research and the information collection in historical sources, like the Revista do Globo´s Catalogue and the Brazil’s Sportive Atlas and the Sportive Atlas in Rio Grande do Sul.
