Televisão : aliada ou adversária da educação escolar?

Abstract

Este trabalho é o resultado da investigação da relação da televisão com a educação escolar, buscando identificar e discutir aspectos positivos e negativos desta relação. Os autores que embasam a fundamentação teórica são Moran (2000), Morin (2002), Baccega (2003), Freire (1996) e Carneiro (2005) entre outros. A pesquisa é um estudo de caso de alunos de uma turma do terceiro ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola pública da zona sul de Porto Alegre. Foram utilizados como instrumentos entrevista e observações. As análises indicam que os alunos não relacionam os assuntos trabalhados na escola com os que assistem na TV, apesar de acreditarem que também aprendem com a TV. Acham ser possível juntar os assuntos, porém ignoram que a televisão seja um recurso a ser utilizado em sala de aula. Portanto torna-se urgente que se discuta a TV e a escola, e suas propostas. É necessário que os professores se atualizem e explorem as mídias e tecnologias tornando o ambiente de sala de aula mais estimulante, criativo, dinâmico e oportunize que o aluno seja autor de sua aprendizagem.

This work is the result of the investigation of the relationship of television with schooling, seeking to identify and discuss positive and negative aspects of this relationship. The authors that support the theoretical are Moran (2000), Morin (2002), Baccega (2003), Freire (1996) and Carneiro (2005) among others. The research is a case study of students in a class of third year of elementary school in a public school in the southern area of Porto Alegre. The instruments were interview and observation. Analysis indicates that students do not relate the subjects dealt in school with they watch on TV, although they also believe in learn from TV. They think is possible to join both to learn, but ignore that television could be a resource to be used in classroom. Therefore it is urgent to discuss the relation between TV and school, and their proposals. It is necessary for teachers to upgrade and explore media and technology making classroom environment more stimulating, creative, and dynamic to oportunize to students being the authors of their learning.
