A formação do acervo artístico de Porto Alegre: a gênese das pinacotecas municipais nos anos 1970

Abstract

Trabalho de conclusão de curso em museologia que procura identificar e analisar as bases e os personagens responsáveis pela formação do Acervo Artístico da Prefeitura de Porto Alegre (composto pelas Pinacotecas Aldo Locatelli e Ruben Berta) durante os anos 1970. Demonstra, através da ótica do interacionismo simbólico, o protagonismo de um personagem central no processo de formação, crescimento e consolidação do Acervo: Leandro Silva Telles. Conclui que as Pinacotecas Municipais devem sua existência – ao menos na sua conformação atual, um dos maiores acervos de artes plásticas do País – às ações e iniciativas levadas adiante por Leandro Telles, dentro de uma conjuntura muito especial, onde o apoio decisivo do Prefeito Telmo Thompson Flores - entre 1971 e 1975 - foi de fundamental importância. Conclui, também, que o processo de formação de tal Acervo está inserido dentro do movimento de preservação do patrimônio cultural em Porto Alegre iniciado a partir dos anos 1960.

Work completion in museology that seeks to identify and analyze the foundations and the characters responsible for the making of the Art Collection of the City of Porto Alegre (composed by Aldo Locatelli and Ruben Berta art galleries) during the 1970’s. Demonstrates, through the lens of symbolic interactionism, the role of a central character in the formation, growth and consolidation process of the Acquis: Leandro Silva Telles. Concludes that the Municipal Art Galleries owe their existence - at least in its present shape, one of the largest art collections in the country - by the actions and initiatives taken forward by Leandro Telles, within a very particular situation where the decisive support of the Mayor Telmo Thompson Flores (1971-1975) was of fundamental importance. Also, concludes that the process of formation of such Collection is housed within the movement for the preservation of cultural heritage in Porto Alegre started since the 1960’s.
