As implicações na produção leiteira da agricultura familiar e o processo de industrialização e urbanização no município de Dois Irmãos

Abstract

A produção de leite sempre foi considerada uma atividade de grande importância para a agricultura familiar. O sistema agroindustrial do Rio Grande do Sul passou por mudanças estruturais profundas, essas transformações ocorreram em decorrência da abertura de mercado. O tema que norteia o presente trabalho é a investigação do processo de industrialização e urbanização do município de Dois Irmãos e as implicações na produção de leite. O trabalho tem como objetivo geral investigar os fatores que desestimulam os agricultores familiares a se manterem na atividade leiteira. Para o estudo ora apresentado foi realizado levantamento bibliográfico e pesquisa de campo através da aplicação de questionário a doze produtores de leite do município de Dois irmãos. Na década de 1970, 82,2% da população era considerada rural e apenas 19,98% era urbana. A migração foi tão intensa que na década de 1990 esses números já eram inversos, restando apenas 7,4% da população no meio rural e concentrando 92,57% da população no meio urbano, sendo que em vinte anos houve um maciço esvaziamento do meio rural no município. A pesquisa de campo apontou que 50% das famílias produtoras de leite entrevistadas possuem algum membro familiar recebendo o beneficio da aposentadoria, dado o qual revela o alto índice de envelhecimento no meio rural. 50% dos entrevistados responderam que já pensaram em abandonar a atividade. A saída dos filhos das propriedades fez com que parte delas ficassem sem sucessor, o que gera implicações sobre as relações sociais dos agricultores familiares, influenciando a continuidade e manutenção dos estabelecimentos rurais de cunho familiar. 75% das propriedades entrevistadas no momento não possuem sucessão, esse indicativo pode levar ao desaparecimento da atividade leiteira no município de Dois Irmãos.

The milk production has always been considered an activity of great significance to the domestic farming. The agrobusiness system in Rio Grande do Sul has been through deep structural changes, and these changes have occurred due to a market opening. The subject matter that leads the present study is the investigation of the industrialization and urbanization process in the city of Dois Irmãos –RS and its involvement in the milk production. The study’s main goal is to investigate the reasons that discourage the domestic farmers to sustain the milk activity. For the present study a bibliographical survey and a field research was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to twelve milk producers from the city of Dois Irmãos. During the seventies, 82.2% of the population was considered rural and only 19.98% was urban. The migration process was so intense that in the nineties these numbers were already inversed, leaving only 7.4% of the population in the rural environment and concentrating 92, 57% of the population in the urban environment. The field research showed that 50% of the milk producing families interviewed have some member of the family receiving the retirement benefits that reveals the high rate of aging in the rural environment. 50% of the interviewed subjects answered that had already thought of leaving the rural environment. Part of these properties belonging to some of the interviewed subjects were left with no successors, due to the exodus of their sons and/or daughters, what generates implications over the domestic farmers social relationships, which implies on the continuity and maintenance of the rural properties. 75% of the families interviewed so far do not have any successors, which may lead to the complete disappearance of milk production in the city of Dois Irmãos.
