Patrimônio cultural do Rio Grande do Sul : a atribuição de valores a uma memória coletiva edificada para o Estado

Abstract

A presente Dissertação trata sobre o Patrimônio Cultural do Rio Grande do Sul tombado no nível estadual. O foco de análise na pesquisa desenvolvida é a atribuição de valores para que um determinado bem da cultura material seja alçado à condição de patrimônio cultural. A atribuição de valor para que um objeto, móvel ou imóvel, seja consagrado como patrimônio cultural requer embasamentos estéticos, e/ou históricos, e/ou antropológicos capazes de dar-lhe legitimidade. Nesse sentido, procurou-se elucidar e compreender a forma como os agentes da instituição responsável pela gestão do patrimônio cultural do Estado – Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico do Estado – IPHAE atribuíram valores aos 86 bens inscritos no Livro Tombo Histórico para dar-lhes legitimidade enquanto elementos materiais representativos da cultura do Estado.

The present study deals with the cultural heritage of the state Rio Grande do Sul which is protected at state level. In the developed research, the analysis focus is the attribution of value so that a certain property of material culture is elevated to the condition of cultural heritage. The attribution of value to an object, be it mobile or a real estate, so that it is consecrated as cultural heritage, needs aesthetic and/or historical and/or anthropological bases, which are able to give them legitimacy. In this sense, we tried to elucidate and understand the way the agents from the institution responsible for the cultural heritage in the state – Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico do Estado – IPHAE (State Institut of the Historical and Artistic Heritage) attributed value to the 86 properties listed in the Livro Tombo Histórico (Historical Book of Register), to give them legitimacy as material elements representative of the state culture.
