O estudo de pré-tratamentos para aumentar a resistência aos efeitos da corrosão e melhorar a performance da pintura para prolongar a vida útil dos materiais, é de suma importância para o setor industrial. Os prejuízos referentes à corrosão podem parecer inexpressivos, mas alcançam valores inimagináveis por todos nós. Entender o funcionamento desta área é vital. O pré-tratamento mais usado atualmente é a fosfatização. Ele desempenha bem o seu papel de revestimento protetivo e base para a pintura, porém deixa resíduos perigosos no ambiente. Em função disso, novos métodos são estudados. Um destes métodos é através do uso de camadas de conversão a base de ácidos, como os ácidos de zircônio ou titânio. No presente trabalho será feito uma análise comparativa vendo os benefícios de se usar este novo método. Para tanto foram realizados diversos ensaios, simulando ambientes salinos e urbanos, ensaios eletroquímicos e de aderência. Foi possível verificar a qualidade do uso dos nanocerâmicos, que em muitas ocasiões demonstrou ser superior à fosfatização. Porém mais estudos são necessários, visto que ainda existem situações que o comportamento das camadas de conversão não é tão eficiente como nos métodos tradicionais. ...
