Planejamento em conservação preventiva de acervos : roteiro básico para arquivos, bibliotecas, centros de documentação e museus brasileiros

Abstract

Estudo para elaboração do Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC). O assunto pesquisado foi Planejamento em Conservação Preventiva de Acervos de Arquivos, Bibliotecas, Centros de Documentação e Museus brasileiros. Este estudo tem como objetivo servir de instrumento para gestores e administradores que precisem prever, maximizar e racionalizar os recursos financeiros, operacionais, humanos e o tempo empregado por suas instituições no exercício de suas atividades em Conservação Preventiva de Acervos. Apresenta os resultados parciais da pesquisa monográfica ”Estudo sobre as Condições de Preservação dos Acervos Documentais Brasileiro 1997-1998”. Estabelece conceitos para Preservação, Conservação e Restauração. Define a metodologia utilizada para o desenvolvimento deste estudo, basicamente, revisão bibliográfica. Estabelece o histórico do planejamento bibliotecário no Brasil. Apresenta os enfoques técnicos considerados nos estudos em Conservação Preventiva e seus possíveis critérios. Caracteriza os quatro tipos de instituição e identifica seus acervos. Demonstra os enfoques e a abrangência de Preservação e Conservação Preventiva. Caracteriza os tipos de planejamento e aplicações. Identifica o Projeto Conservação Preventiva em Bibliotecas e Arquivos (CPBA), sua importância e aplicação no contexto Brasileiro. Recomenda a aplicação das diretrizes levantadas no estudo “Política de Preservação de Acervos Institucionais”. Conclui que o essencial é cada instituição reconhecer a si mesma, seus acervos e seu potencial para a Conservação Preventiva, através de um processo como o Planejamento Estratégico, que permite procedimentos de modo a valorizar a instituição. Inclui, nos Apêndices, estudos de caso e alguns textos consultados resenhados, como subproduto do trabalho.

Study for elaboration of the Course’s Work of Conclusion (TCC). The searched subject was Planning in Preventive Conservation of Collection of Brazilian Archives, Libraries, Centers of Documentation and Museums. This study it has as objective to serve of instrument for managers and administrators whom they need to foresee, to maximize and to rationalize the financial resources, operational, human and the time used for its institutions in the exercise of its activities in Preventive Conservation of Collections presents the partial results of the monographic research ”Study on the Conditions of Preservation of the Documentary Brazilian Collections 1997-1998”. It establishes concepts for Preservation, Conservation and Restoration. It defines the methodology used for the development of this study, basically, bibliographical revision. It establishes the description of the planning librarian in Brazil. It presents the approaches technician considered in the studies in Preventive Conservation and its possible criteria. It characterizes the four types of institution and identifies its collections. It demonstrates to the approaches and the comprisence of Preservation and Preventive Conservation. It characterizes the types of planning and applications. It identifies to the Project Preventive Conservation in Libraries and Archives (CPBA), its importance and application in the Brazilian context. It recommends the application of the lines of direction raised in the “Policy of Preservation of Institutions Collections”; It concludes that the essential one is each institution to recognize same itself, its collections and its potential for the Preventive Conservation, through a process as the Strategical Planning, that allows procedures in order to value the institution. It includes, in the Appendices, consulted studies of case and some texts review, as by-product of the work.
