Comparison of methane reaction mechanisms in opposed-flow diffusion flames
Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

Abstract
This study aims to identify the set of reactions that allow a better performance in modeling the formation of carbon dioxide for studies of radiation in flames. To do so, compares different reaction mechanisms in methane-air opposed-flow diffusion flames through numerical simulation using the software CHEMKIN. The numerical solution is confronted to experimental data in order to validate the results. The analyzed mechanisms are GRI-Mech 3.0, GRI-Mech 2.11, Kazakov and Frenklach mechanism and Tw ...
The analyzed mechanisms are GRI-Mech 3.0, GRI-Mech 2.11, Kazakov and Frenklach mechanism and Two Step Global mechanism. The results showed good agreement with experimental values. The Kazakov and Frenklach mechanism stood out for being more compact than the detailed mechanisms and still able to deliver extremely accurate results. ...
