Uma adaptação inadequada ao estresse executa importante papel na fisiopatologia de inúmeras doenças altamente prevalentes nos dias atuais. A angiotensina II (Ang II) exerce função tanto na resposta ao estresse, quanto na resposta proinflamatória do organismo (que também faz parte dos mecanismos de adaptação ao estresse). Para avaliar a participação da Ang II na modulação da expressão de citocinas pró-inflamatórias IL-1β, IL-6 e TNF-α em hipocampo e hipotálamo de ratos submetidos a estresse crônico, fez-se o tratamento com Losartan. As estruturas foram coletadas, para quantificação de citocinas por ELISA. Foi verificado que há significativo aumento nas concentrações de TNF-α no hipocampo do grupo que ingeriu Losartan mas não foi submetido a estresse. Por outro lado, o grupo estressado, sem o fármaco, apresentou diminuição da expressão de IL-1β, que foi prevenida pela administração do bloqueador. ...
