Este estudo de caso busca analisar as principais mudanças socioeconômicas com a aplicação da Lei 4.771/65, que trata da preservação da vegetação em torno das Áreas de Reserva Legal e de Preservação Permanente na pequena propriedade rural familiar, localizada no município de Camargo/RS. Como objetivos específicos, inicialmente buscou-se descrever o uso e a ocupação da propriedade, identificando as áreas destinadas à preservação e conservação e os principais motivos que leva os proprietários a utilizarem estas áreas. O método utilizado para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foi a pesquisa qualitativa. Criou-se também, um cenário fictício (montagem em uma imagem), onde foi aplicada a Lei vigente em contraponto com a situação real da propriedade, com isso, pode-se perceber que as mudanças principalmente economicas serão de grande proporção e com isso a vida social dos integrantes também será afetada. A partir dos dados obtidos com a pesquisa, observa-se a acentuada diminuição na renda econômica da propriedade, gerando assim, uma preocupação em torno do futuro dos pequenos agricultores rurais familiares que estão localizados em áreas ricas em recursos hídricos e com relevo acidentado. Conclui-se, que se deve buscar alternativas para legalizar as propriedades rurais sem que haja abandono do campo por parte dos agricultores. ...

This case study aims to analyze the socioeconomic changes which may be promoted by the Forest Code (Law 4771/1965) in a small and family farm, located in Camargo, Rio Grande do Sul. This case study aims to analyze the socioeconomic changes which may be promoted by the Forest Code (Law 4771/1965) in a small and family farm, located in Camargo, Rio Grande do Sul. The method applied to develop this study was the qualitative research. The Law 4771, which has been protected the vegetation around the legal reserves and areas of permanent preservation since 1965, was applied in a small and family farm in the town of Camargo. First, it was identified the land use and the areas destined to preservation and conservation, describing the reasons which lead the owners to use these areas. Then, it was created a fictitious scenario (image editing) where the current Law was applied in comparison to the real situation of the property, so, it was possible to realize that changes, mainly economic, will be of great proportion and the family members’ social life will also be affected. According to the results obtained, the property economical income decreased, generating a concern over the future of small family farmers that are located in areas rich in water resources and uneven soil. In conclusion, it is necessary to search for alternatives to legalize rural properties, avoiding the farmers to abandon their fields. ...
