O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar as possibilidades de desenvolvimento de membranas poliméricas a partir de redes de polímeros interpenetrantes (IPNs) compostas de poliuretano obtido a partir do óleo de mamona e de copolímero de poli(estireno-co-divinilbenzeno). Filmes de IPNs foram funcionalizados através da sulfonação, utilizando sulfato de acetila como reagente, a fim de se produzirem membranas íon-seletivas do tipo catiônicas. Os materiais poliméricos produzidos, sulfonados ou não, foram estudados através de um conjunto de métodos termoanalíticos (TGA, DSC, DMA), microscopia eletrônica de varredura e avaliados quanto à resistência química e mecânica. As IPNs sulfonadas foram avaliadas quanto seu comportamento de absorção de água e quanto à capacidade de troca iônica. Os resultados mostraram que a concentração dos componentes das IPNs afeta suas propriedades e que as condições de sulfonação afetam as características das membranas produzidas. ...
