Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o papel da produção da Agricultura Familiar para autoconsumo na segurança alimentar e nutricional dos agricultores do Distrito Estância Velha, município de Tramandaí, analisando a produção como responsável pela construção da identidade dos agricultores familiares e para a reprodução social das famílias rurais, bem como identificar potencialidades e limitações para desenvolver uma agricultura de autoconsumo como promotora da segurança alimentar e nutricional. Foi utilizada a metodologia qualitativa, a partir das técnicas de entrevistas semi-estruturadas realizadas com sete famílias de agricultores e estando presente na divisão de tarefas entre os membros da família e dos trabalhos realizados nas propriedades. Foi constatado que as famílias agricultoras praticam uma agricultura de autoconsumo, considerada importante para a reprodução social da família, repassando o conhecimento das práticas produtivas sob a perspectiva de uma agricultura com base na agroecologia, garantindo assim a sustentabilidade socioeconômica, cultural e ambiental das famílias rurais. As famílias agricultoras do Distrito Estância Velha, na sua maioria, apresentam laços de parentesco, constituindo suas famílias e permanecendo na localidade, demonstrando um sentimento de pertencimento a sua comunidade. A agricultura familiar garante a produção de autoconsumo, com diversificação, quantidade e qualidade de produtos, empregando maior número de mão-de-obra, menor emprego de insumos exógenos, minimizando os riscos que podem causar a insegurança alimentar das famílias rurais. A prática de uma agricultura com base na agroecologia promove a sustentabilidade, fortalecendo a produção para autoconsumo e a produção de alimentos básicos promotora da segurança alimentar das famílias rurais e não rurais. ...

This study aims to understand the role of family farming production for own consumption in food and nutrition security of farmers in the Old District Office, city of Tramandaí, analyzing the production and responsible for building the identity of family farmers and for the social reproduction of families rural as well as identify strengths and limitations to develop an agricultural self-consumption as a promoter of food and nutrition security. Qualitative methodology was used, from the techniques of semi-structured interviews with seven families of farmers and being present in the division of labor among family members and the work done on the properties. It was found that the family farmers practicing agriculture for self-consumption, considered important for the social reproduction of the family, passing on the knowledge of production practices from the perspective of an agriculture based on agro-ecology, thus ensuring sustainable socio-economic, cultural and environmental assets of rural families . The farming families of the Old District Office, in its majority, have ties of kinship, forming their families and staying in the locality, demonstrating a sense of belonging to their community. Family farming ensures the production of consumption, with diversification, quantity and quality of products, employing more manpower, less use of exogenous inputs, minimizing the risks that can cause food insecurity of rural families.
