A motivação dos funcionários afeta significativamente a produtividade e os resultados de uma empresa. A motivação dos funcionários afeta significativamente a produtividade e os resultados de uma empresa. Com base nesse aspecto, e como forma de contribuir para o melhor entendimento desse tema, foi levantada a possibilidade de ser realizado um estudo sobre a motivação dos funcionários e as técnicas de incentivo utilizadas pelos gestores. Para tanto, foi escolhida uma unidade do Banco Ômega para a realização do presente trabalho, com o objetivo de analisar as formas de incentivo utilizadas pelo gestor da mesma, e também para verificar a motivação dos funcionários e compará-las, levando-se em consideração a existência de dois tipos de funcionários, novos e antigos. A abordagem de pesquisa utilizada foi a quantitativa, com a aplicação de dois tipos de questionários, um para o gestor da unidade e outro para os demais funcionários. Os dados obtidos foram analisados com base nas teorias sobre motivação de Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor e Vroom. Com a realização da pesquisa ficou demonstrado que o gestor da unidade utiliza-se de vários métodos de incentivo à motivação, mas principalmente analisa cada funcionário, ou seja, busca entender suas expectativas e necessidades, o que confirma as teorias estudadas. O gestor também identificou que os funcionários novos possuem expectativas diferentes dos antigos, e que se baseia nisso para aplicar as técnicas de motivação mais adequadas para os diferentes tipos de funcionários. Quanto à pesquisa realizada com os funcionários, foi constatado que os funcionários novos apresentam índice de motivação diferente dos funcionários antigos, sendo que as expectativas dos dois tipos de funcionários são distintas, pois, enquanto os funcionários novos esperam construir uma carreira dentro da instituição, os antigos prezam mais a segurança do emprego. ...
