A construção de uma imagem da mulher negra na e pela cena

Abstract

Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso investiga a representação cênica da mulher negra, considerando que seus traços fenotípicos e socioculturais são frequentemente utilizados como ponto de partida para construção de personagens. Ancorado nos conceitos de ideologia do branqueamento (González, 1988) e imagens de controle (Collins, 2019), o estudo analisa a perpetuação de estereótipos coloniais e desumanizadores. A partir da análise da personagem Dália, da peça Quem trará o sol?, o trabalho dialoga com o pensamento do feminismo negro, propondo uma subversão desses estigmas por meio da experiência pessoal e artística de uma mulher negra em formação como atriz. A pesquisa contribui para a elaboração de subjetividades múltiplas e autodefinidas de mulheres negras, fortalecendo o reconhecimento de sua complexidade humana nas artes cênicas.

This undergraduate thesis investigates the scenic representation of Black women, considering that their phenotypic and sociocultural features are often used as the foundation for character construction. Grounded in the concepts of whitening ideology (González, 1984) and controlling images (Collins, 2019), the study analyzes the perpetuation of colonial and dehumanizing stereotypes. Through an examination of the character Dália in the play Quem trará o sol?, and in dialogue with Black feminist thought, the paper also explores attempts to subvert these social practices by creating new images of Black female characters—and the actresses who embody them—drawing from the personal and artistic experiences of a Black woman in training as an actress. This relationship allows the research to propose alternatives for elaborating Black women’s subjectivities and their self-definition as complex, multifaceted human beings.
