O sol negro em Hamsun : comunicação diurna e aura demoníaca no texto literário

Abstract

A presente dissertação propõe-se a compreender, por meio da análise da obra Pan, de Knut Hamsun, como se pode dar na literatura a comunicação da violência germinal do totalitarismo, refletindo antes, com base na antropologia durandiana, sobre a atuação das diretrizes do imaginário na formação do espírito totalitário. Centrando-se em uma obra-prima da literatura universal, particularmente marcada pela densidade simbólica e pela expressão de uma perversidade demoníaca, buscou-se identificar, mediante a orientação amplificante da hermenêutica simbólica, os schèmes e arquétipos nela atuantes. Partindo-se da hipótese de trabalho de que existe uma íntima relação entre o totalitarismo e a exacerbação dos schèmes ascensional e diairético, que integram o regime diurno de imagens, configurou-se então como principal dimensão de análise a linguagem verbal, precisamente por esta constituir o objeto privilegiado de estudo na área da comunicação. Tendo-se em conta ainda, em linha com a antropologia literária iseriana, que o fictício propicia ao imaginário sua concretização no produto verbal do texto, optou-se por proceder à pesquisa mediante o texto literário, uma vez que nele as possibilidades do imaginário se desenvolvem mais livremente, por não se submeterem às finalidades pragmáticas da vida real. O eixo temático que orienta a análise, por sua vez, é o horror na história e o espírito totalitário, aqui examinados especialmente em seus elementos simbólicos presentes na novela poética de Hamsun, mediante os quais se revela a aura demoníaca do protagonista Glahn que, causando grande estremecimento, pode até ser reverenciada. A investigação amparou-se sobretudo na antropologia durandiana, com destaque para os seguintes paradigmas: o trajeto antropológico e a via da interdisciplinaridade.

This dissertation research aims to understand, through an analysis of Knut Hamsun’s novel Pan, how literature can convey the germinal violence of totalitarianism, first reflecting, based on the anthropology of Durand, on the role of the imaginary’s guidelines in shaping the totalitarian spirit. Focusing on a masterpiece of world literature, particularly marked by symbolic density and the expression of a demonic perversity, the study sought to identify, through the amplifying guidance of symbolic hermeneutics, the schèmes and archetypes at work within it. Based on the working hypothesis that there is an intimate connection between totalitarianism and the exacerbation of the diurnal regime of images, along with the ascensional and divisional schèmes, verbal language was established as the principal dimension of analysis, precisely because it constitutes the privileged object of study within the field of communication. Furthermore, following the principles of Iser’s literary anthropology, according to which the fictive enables the imaginary to materialize itself in the verbal product of the text, the decision was made to carry out the research through the literary text, where the possibilities of the imaginary unfold more freely, not being constrained by the pragmatic purposes of real life. The thematic axis guiding the analysis is the horror in history and the totalitarian spirit, examined here through the symbolic elements present in Hamsun’s literature, by means of which the demonic aura of the character Glahn is revealed – an aura that, though it causes great disquiet, can even be revered. The investigation drew primarily on Durand’s anthropology, with special emphasis on the following paradigms: the anthropological path and the interdisciplinary approach.
