Retratos de Gêmeos : atributos de identidades

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem por objeto de estudo o conjunto de retratos em fotografia e vídeo das irmãs gêmeas Aline e Karine e dos irmãos Marcelo e Márcio, e procura investigar as relações entre imagem e identidade, bem como aspectos documentais e expressivos da fotografia. Este estudo se concentra na potência dos retratos produzidos como instrumentos de identificação e reconhecimento, estabelecendo possíveis relações entre as imagens e as identidades das pessoas retratadas, com base nas semelhanças e diferenças reveladas. Na primeira etapa, esta investigação se concentrou em retratos produzidos em estúdio. Foram geradas imagens que permitem analisar as características físicas, semelhanças e diferenças entre os sujeitos retratados, reveladas pela fotografia, tratando cada imagem de maneira independente. As imagens também foram combinadas digitalmente, buscando subverter a relação entre imagem e referente. Posteriormente, foram utilizados recursos de inteligência artificial para afastar ainda mais as imagens da realidade, gerando representações nas quais os modelos nunca estiveram diante da câmera.

This research focuses on the collection of photographic and video portraits of twin sisters Aline and Karine, as well as twin brothers Marcelo and Márcio, aiming to investigate the re- lationships between image and identity, as well as the documentary and expressive aspects of photography. The study examines the power of portraits as tools for identification and recognition, establishing possible connections between the images and the identities of the portrayed individuals based on the similarities and differences revealed. In the initial phase, the investigation centered on studio-produced portraits. The resulting images allowed for an analysis of the physical characteristics, similarities, and differences among the subjects, as revealed through photography, treating each image independently. Additionally, the images were digitally combined in an effort to subvert the relationship be- tween image and referent. Subsequently, artificial intelligence tools were employed to further distance the images from reality, generating representations in which the models were never physically in front of the camera.
