Literatura surda : adaptação e tradução da produção cultural surda em língua de sinais

Abstract

O presente trabalho –recorte de pesquisa sobre a forma como os surdos vêm construindo a Literatura Surda -tem como objetivo analisar produções de histórias feitas por surdos, identificando recursos de construção e verificando como contribuem para a expressão da cultura surda, assim como analisar entrevistas com os produtores das histórias. A base teórica foi buscada nos Estudos Surdos, em autores como Karnopp (2010), Quadros e Sutton-Spence (2006), Silveira (2006), Strobel (2008), Wilcox (2005). O material empírico veio de atividades desenvolvidas por alunos de Licenciatura em Letras-Libras, EAD, da UFSC, no pólo da UFSM (2006), realizadas na disciplina Literatura Surda. As produções aqui analisadas foram adaptações de histórias, que incluíram personagens surdos e situações novas, assim como uma tradução. As entrevistas mostram um esforço de produção e estratégias variadas, junto com interesse na cultura surda e na educação dos surdos. Conclui-se que, naquele espaço e tempo, ocorreram momentos importantesde aprendizagem e experiência de formas discursivas literárias, em que os surdos puderam expressar seus discursos e seus valores, enriquecendo a Literatura Surda.

The present work -a research section on the way in which deaf people have been constructing Deaf Literature -aims to analyze productions of stories made by deaf people, identifying construction resources, and verifying how they contribute to the expression of deaf culture, as well as analyzing interviews with the producers of the stories. The theoretical basis was sought in Deaf Studies, in authors such as Karnopp (2010), Quadros and Sutton-Spence (2006), Silveira (2006), Strobel (2008), Wilcox (2005). The empirical material came from activities developed by students of the Degree in Literature-Libras, EAD, at UFSC, at the UFSM center (2006), carried out in the Deaf Literature discipline. The productions analyzed here were adaptations of stories, which included deaf characters and new situations, as well as a translation. The interviews show a production effort and varied strategies, along with an interest in deaf culture and deaf education. It is concluded that, in that space and time, there were important moments of learning and experience of literary discursive forms, in which deaf people were able to express their speeches and values, enriching Deaf Literature.
