| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | One of the biggest problems faced by the United States today is illegal immigration. The country is the main political and economic power of a world in which there is a great diversity of life conditions between rich and poor States. Thus, the American situation awakens in people from various countries the desire of living in the United States with the idea of improving their lives. Many, however, are unable to do that in a legal way, opting, then, by illegal means of entering the American territory. This paper analyses this kind of migration. It begins by a historic of the illegal immigration in the country, since the first nationality laws until the 2000‟s. It also makes a study of the current migration situation, exploring the underdevelopment as a fundamental factor in the decision of migrating. The paper also analyses the actions of President Barack Obama‟s first years in office in terms of illegal immigration, as well as the recent events involving the subject – notably, the SB 1070 law from the American state Arizona. | en |
