Este estudo aborda um tema relevante no atual contexto da economia mundial, onde aceleradas transformações no ambiente provocam mudanças de posições. A negociação comercial internacional tem merecido destaque entre a comunidade acadêmica, pelo desenvolvimento de uma série de pesquisas. No meio empresarial, pesquisar negociação torna-se excelente fonte de informação acerca das percepções dos negociadores quanto à realidade. Esta pesquisa consiste na realização de um estudo exploratório, com objetivo de identificar diferenças e semelhanças entre negociadores brasileiros e argentinos. No Brasil a pesquisa deu-se em Porto Alegre e sua região metropolitana, e na Argentina foram entrevistados executivos da Capital Federal e Província de Buenos Aires, totalizando uma amostra de 72 respondentes. De forma geral, os resultados obtidos nessa pesquisa demonstram o perfil sóciodemográfico, influência do status de comprador ou vendedor nos resultados da negociação e as características positivas e negativas dos negociadores na percepção dos respondentes.
