Quem conta um conto aumenta um ponto? : a odisséia de Le Corbusier na construção da Unité d'habitation de Marselha

Abstract

Le Corbusier, pseudônimo de Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-gris, é um arquiteto icônico do movimento moderno, que expandiu os horizontes da arquitetura no século XX. Ele teve como tema central da sua produção o habitar, com o objetivo de criar o lar para o homem da segunda era da máquina. As suas pesquisas em torno desse tema culminam na Unité d’habitation de Marselha que é uma síntese, embora também tenha caráter propositivo, do trabalho do arquiteto, especialmente no que se refere ao habitar coletivo. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo trazer um olhar sobre Unité além do objeto construído, com o intuito de proporcionar uma compreensão mais abrangente sobre a obra e o arquiteto estudados. Essa abordagem, baseada em uma análise descritiva historiográfica, visa suscitar reflexões sobre: a valorização do processo de construção da arquitetura seja ele ao nível do pensamento, quanto ao nível de concretização do objeto construído, a transmutação do papel para pedra; a importância do fator humano na arquitetura; o papel desempenhado por diversos agentes, que não sejam diretamente ligados à arquitetura ou a construção, mas que estão envolvidos diretamente nesse processo e a forma como é feita a documentação, publicação e exploração da disciplina no cenário da Arquitetura. A odisseia de Le Corbusier na construção da Unité d’Habitation de Marselha é estabelecida desde o início da vida do arquiteto até finalização da construção da Unité d’habitation de Marselha. Um percurso que nos leva do criador à criatura e nos convida a refletir: quem conta um conto, aumenta um ponto?

Le Corbusier, pseudonym of Charles-Edouard Jeanneret-gris, is an iconic architect of the modern movement, who expanded the horizons of architecture in the twentieth century. He had as the central theme of his production the dwelling, with the purpose of creating the home for the man of the second age of the machine. His research on this subject culminates in the Unité d'habitation in Marseille, which is a synthesis, although it also has a propositional nature, from the work of the architect, especially regarding collective housing. The present work has the objective to bring a look on the Unité beyond the constructed object, in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding about the work and the architect studied. This approach, based on a historiographical descriptive analysis, aims to stimulate reflections on: the valorization of the process of construction of architecture that can be at the level of thought, as to the level of concretion of the constructed object, the transmutation of the paper to stone; The importance of the human factor in architecture; The role-played by various agents that are not directly related to architecture or construction, but are directly involved in this process; how the documentation, publication and exploration of the discipline is done in the Architecture scenario. Le Corbusier's odyssey in the construction of the Unité d'Habitation in Marseilles is established from the beginning of the architect's life to the Unité d'habitation's inauguration. A path that takes us from the creator to the creature, and invites us to reflect: who counts a tale, increases a point?
