Com o intuito de atingir práticas mais sustentáveis e amigáveis ao meio ambiente, a construção civil vem se reinventando com novas tecnologias e metodologias. Atualmente, as certificações ambientais atuam diretamente nas construções, abrangendo todas as fases do empreendimento, com o intuito de melhorar a relação homem e meio ambiente. Uma das certificações com grande importância mundialmente é a Certificação LEED, que, com seu método de pontuação, classifica empreendimentos a partir do seu impacto no meio ambiente e na sociedade. O presente trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso de uma obra localizada em Porto Alegre – RS composta por duas torres comerciais de fachada unitizada na procura de encontrar o melhor sistema de vidros para que se atenda os parâmetros da Certificação LEED e ao mesmo tempo se analisa o impacto no custo e prazo de entrega do empreendimento. Com base na revisão bibliográfica estudou-se as propriedades dos vidros e dos sistemas de fachada para melhor análise das amostras obtidas para o estudo. Juntamente às revisões bibliográficas, também foram realizadas visitas à obra para melhor entendimento do complexo e do sistema da fachada. Durante essas visitas, foram feitas reuniões com engenheiros e funcionários da obra para compreender o processo da escolha e o impacto que elas trazem ao empreendimento. Assim, procurou-se descrever todas as opções levantadas para depois analisar, juntamente com os conceitos da certificação, a melhor solução. Durante a análise, percebeu-se que a melhor solução atenderia os parâmetros da Certificação LEED, porém acarretaria em um atraso de 5 meses do prazo da obra e um custo total de $ 9.320.767,15. ...
