Os processos simbólicos e de identificação com a ancestralidade afro : as tranças, as trancistas e os salões afro

Abstract

Na presente monografia trabalho a ideia das tranças, as trancistas e os salões afro como elementos simbólicos que constroem a identidade de mulheres negras, através desses olhares para a corporeidade negra, o cabelo e o penteado têm início um processo de construção social e referencial identitário dessas mulheres com a ancestralidade negra. O objetivo deste trabalho é a partir dos conceitos de Identidade Social perceber padrões identitários e estéticos dos trançados, das trancistas e dos salões, suas interpretações e como mulheres negras atribuem significados a esses elementos na construção da sua própria identidade. Para atingir os objetivos aqui propostos a pesquisa se baseou na abordagem qualitativa, realizando entrevistas semiestruturadas com seis mulheres negras que utilizam tranças e frequentam salões exclusivos para trançar cabelos. Ao analisar as vivências dessas mulheres, busco compreender os valores e significados que elas atribuem às tranças, à relação com as trancistas e os salões afro. Por meio dessa compreensão, procuro identificar como esses elementos contribuem, ou não, para o processo de identificação com a ancestralidade afro. A partir da análise observei que a memória do trançado com o seio familiar, o amor pelos cabelos desenvolvidos durante a transição capilar, a conexão cultural do espaço físico do salão afro e a relação de afeto com a trancista são os principais elementos que compõem a identificação das mulheres negras com as tranças, as trancistas e os salões.

In this monograph, I work on the idea of braids, braiders, and afro salons as symbolic elements that construct the identity of black women. Through these looks at the black corporeality, hair and hairstyle, a process of social construction and identity referential of these women with black ancestry begins. The objective of this work is, based on the concepts of Social Identity, to understand the identity and aesthetic patterns of the braids, braiders, and salons, their interpretations, and how black women attribute meanings to these elements in the construction of their own identity. To achieve the objectives proposed here, the research was based on the qualitative approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with six black women who use braids and go to salons exclusively for braiding hair. By analyzing the experiences of these women, I seek to understand the values and meanings they attribute to braids, to their relationship with braiders, and to the afro salons. Through this understanding, I try to identify how these elements contribute, or not, to the identification process with the Afro ancestry. From the analysis I observed that the memory of braiding with the family, the love for the hair developed during the hair transition, the cultural connection of the physical space of the afro salon, and the affectionate relationship with the braider are the main elements that make up the identification of black women with the braids, the braiders, and the salons.
