O Sistema Monetário e Financeiro Internacional revisitado : fim da hegemonia do dólar?

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo revisitar o Sistema Monetário e Financeiro Internacional (SMFI) e analisar como o dólar chegou ao posto de moeda hegemônica no mundo desde o fim do século XIX até o início do século XXI. Além disso, o trabalho também busca identificar os principais fatores econômicos e políticos que expandem as fronteiras do uso de uma moeda para além do território nacional do Estado emissor. Por fim, o trabalho busca analisar os dados atuais dos usos das moedas e entender quais são as moedas que podem ameaçar a hegemonia do dólar ao longo dos próximos anos, analisando indicadores de uso em transações comerciais e também o uso das moedas internacionais como reserva de valor. Para tal, foi utilizada a metodologia de revisão bibliográfica para identificar o processo histórico da ascensão do dólar. Posteriormente, a metodologia serve para estressar os fatores que alavancam o uso de uma moeda e, por fim, para entender a dinâmica atual do uso de outras moedas que poderia ameaçar a hegemonia do dólar. A hipótese a ser comprovada é a de que a hegemonia do dólar não tem competidores a nível internacional que possam tomar a liderança do uso da moeda americana.

The present work aims to revisit the International Monetary and Financial System (IMFS) and analyze how the dollar reached the position of hegemonic currency in the world throughout history. In addition, the work also seeks to identify the main sanitary and political factors that expand the borders of the use of a currency beyond the national territory of the issuing State. Finally, the work seeks to analyze current data on the uses of currencies and understand which currencies may threaten the hegemony of the dollar over the next few years, analyzing indicators of use in commercial transactions and also the use of international currencies as a reserve of bravery. To this end, a literature review methodology was used to identify the historical process of the rise of the dollar. Subsequently, the methodology serves to stress the factors that leverage the use of a currency and, finally, to understand the current dynamics of the use of other currencies that could threaten the hegemony of the dollar. The hypothesis to be proven is that the hegemony of the dollar has no competitors at the international level that can take the lead in the use of the American currency.
