A biblioteca escolar como auxiliar na aquisição de competência informacional : uma perspectiva para a educação de usuários

Abstract

Apresenta-se a Biblioteca Escolar como auxiliar na aquisição de habilidades e competências informacionais no Ensino Fundamental. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica onde se procura, através de um estudo teórico, evidenciar, como objetivo principal, a partir do conhecimento dos estágios do desenvolvimento cognitivo, como a Biblioteca Escolar pode atuar como auxiliar na aquisição de competência informacional através da educação de seus usuários. Relata-se a realidade da Biblioteca Escolar através de sua importância e de suas deficiências no aparelho escolar. Expõe-se os fatores que cooperam para o fracasso ou bom funcionamento da unidade informacional escolar. Mostra-se o papel pedagógico da biblioteca na formação da autonomia informacional do aluno de Ensino Fundamental como usuário e sujeito atuante na sociedade da informação. Caracteriza-se o aluno de Ensino Fundamental como usuário de Biblioteca Escolar. Destaca-se a responsabilidade do bibliotecário como educador do usuário-aluno no ambiente educacional e sua estreita relação com o corpo docente da instituição. Enfatiza-se o desenvolvimento de habilidades específicas na aquisição de competência informacional como forma de letramento no contexto social atual. Relaciona-se as fases do desenvolvimento cognitivo de Piaget com a aquisição de habilidades e competências informacionais. Evidencia-se que, a partir do conhecimento dos estágios do desenvolvimento cognitivo de alunos de Ensino Fundamental, a Biblioteca Escolar pode atuar como auxiliar na aquisição de competência informacional através da educação de seus usuários. Identifica-se necessidades e recursos metodológicos pertinentes ao desenvolvimento de atitudes positivas em relação ao uso das diversas ferramentas disponíveis na Biblioteca Escolar. Sugere-se atividades para o uso de Biblioteca Escolar. Conclui-se que uma unidade de informação escolar, enquanto ambiente coletivo, somente alcançara seus objetivos se preparar-educar crianças e jovens para serem usuários autônomos e competentes no espaço informacional da sociedade contemporânea.

The Library School is presented as an auxiliary assistance in the acquisition of abilities and information literacy in Basic Education. Starting from the knowledge of the cognitive development stages, it is a bibliographical rese arch that intends to evidence as main objective, through a theoretical study, how can a School Library act to help in the acquisition of information literacy through the education of its users. It also tells about the reality of the School Library through its importance and its deficiencies in the school apparel and exposes the factors that cooperate for the failure or good operation of the informational school unit. It shows the pedagogic function of the library in the formation of informational autonomy of the students from Basic Education as users and actives in the society of the information. The student of Basic Education is characterized as a user of School Library. It demonstrates responsibility of the librarian as user-student's educator in the educational atmosphere and his narrow relationship with the faculty of the institution. The development of specific abilities is emphasized in the acquisition of informational competence as a literacy form in the current social context. It links the phases of the Piaget's cognitive development with the acquisition of abilities and information literacy. It evidences that, starting from the knowledge of the apprenticeships of the Basic Education students cognitive development, the School Library can act as an assistant in the acquisition of information literacy through its users' education. It identifies needs and pertinent methodological resources to the development of positive attitudes in relation to the use of the several available tools in the School Library. It suggests activities for the use of School Library. It ends concluding that a school information unit, while it sets collective, only reaches its objectives preparing-educating children and young students so they can be autonomous and competent users in the informational space of the contemporary society.
