As ações afirmativas podem ser vistas como formas importantes de combater injustiças sociais, tal como o racismo. Contudo, esse fenômeno é bastante complexo, não apenas em razão de sua longevidade, mas também pelo seu caráter tridimensional, que diz respeito à ideologia, prática e estrutura. Diante disso, indagase em que medida as ações afirmativas adotadas pelos programas de pós-graduação da UFRGS conseguem mitigar os efeitos do racismo, removendo os obstáculos que foram por ele institucionalizados. Para responder tal questão, utilizouse como metodologia a aplicação de questionários a alunos negros da pós-graduação, optantes pelas ações afirmativas, visando captar suas percepções sobre essas medidas. Pode-se concluir que os avanços advindos da adoção da reserva de vagas convivem com manifestações concretas de racismo, produzindo desse modo uma justiça inconclusa. ...

Affirmative action can be seen as an important means to combat social injustices such as racism. However, this phenomenon is complex, not only due to its longevity, but also because of its threedimensional feature regarding ideology, practice and structure. Affirmative action can be seen as an important means to combat social injustices such as racism. However, this phenomenon is complex, not only due to its longevity, but also because of its threedimensional feature regarding ideology, practice and structure. In view of this, we have questioned to what extent the affirmative actions adopted by the postgraduate programs at UFRGS manage to mitigate the effects of racism, removing the obstacles that were institutionalized by it. To answer this question, the application of questionnaires to black graduate students was used as a methodology, aiming to capture their perceptions about these measures. It can be concluded that the advances arising from the adoption of the reservation of vacancies coexist with concrete manifestations of racism, thus producing an unfinished justice. ...
