Olhares que recriminam : feminilidade masculina e suas implicações nas relações de vida

Abstract

A presente pesquisa, de enfoque qualitativo e exploratório, busca compreender de que modo a heteronormatividade e a masculinidade implicam nas relações de vida de homens afeminados, por meio do recolhimento da história de vida de dois sujeitos, nascidos no interior do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. O relato é fundamentado teoricamente com estudos nacionais e internacionais, que exploram características compartilhadas entre homens com comportamento feminino. Com o estudo, percebeu-se a dificuldade que é ser um homem afeminado em uma sociedade heteronormativa, machista e patriarcal, o qual prejudica desde relacionamentos amorosos ao acesso ao mercado de trabalho, causando sofrimento e a internalização da violência no indivíduo. Destaca-se que desde a infância, a criança que performar a feminilidade sofre com o preconceito e com diversas formas de violência. O bullying esteve presente ao longo da vida dos pesquisados, gerando consequências de curto a longo prazo, como problemas na aprendizagem, transtornos de ansiedade, pânico e alimentares, e dificuldades de relacionamento interpessoal na vida adulta. A dissertação constatou que a feminilidade performada pode dificultar o acesso do indivíduo a determinados postos de trabalho, tendo em vista o estranhamento que essa gera no coletivo. Contudo, a feminilidade pode facilitar a inserção em atividades alinhadas com a característica, tendo em vista o público que se busca atender. Salienta-se, ainda, que a feminilidade é entendida como frágil e submissa quando performada por homens, o que é refutado pelos pesquisados. Por fim, ressalta-se que a feminilidade é compreendida como fonte de autoestima e a vontade de adquirir novas experiências pelos sujeitos dessa pesquisa.

The present research, with a qualitative and exploratory focus, seeks to understand how heteronormativity and masculinity imply the life relationships of effeminate men, through the collection of the life history of two subjects, born in the interior of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The report is theoretically based on national and international studies that explore shared characteristics among men with feminine behavior. With the study, it was noticed the difficulty of being an effeminate man in a heteronormative, sexist and patriarchal society, which harms everything from romantic relationships to access to the job market, causing suffering and the internalization of violence in the individual. It is noteworthy that since childhood, the child who performs femininity suffers from prejudice and various forms of violence. Bullying was present throughout the lives of those surveyed, generating short- and long-term consequences, such as learning problems, anxiety, panic and eating disorders, and interpersonal relationship difficulties in adult life. The dissertation found that the performed femininity can make it difficult for the individual to access certain jobs, in view of the estrangement that this generates in the collective. However, femininity can facilitate the insertion in activities aligned with the characteristic, considering the target audience. It should also be noted that femininity is understood as fragile and submissive when performed by men, which is refuted by those surveyed. Finally, it is emphasized that femininity is understood as a source of self-esteem and the will to acquire new experiences by the subjects of this research.
