Os surdos narrando seu território : uma breve incursão

Abstract

Neste artigo é apresentada a análise a partir da questão norteadora: “existe povo sem território?”, tomando por base as narrativas e contribuições dos Estudos Surdos e Estudos Culturais, que nos ajudarão a desenvolver a discussão. Tomaremos alguns autores que pesquisam e conceituam território e territorialidade para somar com suas perspectivas. Aqueles que narram sua história, cultura e significações nos darão pistas e nós, com olhares atentos, analisaremos o que está nesse discurso. Os dados coletados foram extraídos dos recortes dos textos da dissertação de Cláudio Mourão “Território” e do poeta Rimar Segala, que apresentou uma prosa poética em Libras “Território”. Os dados são materiais empíricos; neste caso, analisamos e descrevemos categorias territoriais: o que acontece? O que está sendo formado? O que tem se transformado nas vidas dos surdos? Será que eles “narram” que se deslocam no território? Os resultados de nossa análise, compartilhamos aqui neste artigo.

This article presents an analysis based on the guiding question: is there a people with no territory?, and the narratives and contributions of Deaf Studies and Cultural Studies will help us develop the discussion. We will have the perspective of authors who research and conceptualize the terms territory and territoriality, to sum up their view to our perspective. Those individuals who narrate their story, culture, and significances will give us hints and we will analyze, through an attentive look, what is written in the discourse. The data collected were extracted from parts of the texts from Claudio Mourão’s thesis, entitled “Território”, and from the poetical prose “Território” signed in Libras (Brazilian Sign Language) by the poet Rimar Segala. The data are empirical materials, and in this case, we will analyze and describe the territorial categories: what happens? What is being formed? What has been changing in deaf individuals’ lives? Do they narrate that they move in this terri-tory? We share the results of our analysis in this article.
