Questões de saúde e adoecimento na população rural de Santa Isabel no município de São Lourenço do Sul/RS

Abstract

A atenção à saúde da população rural desencadeia uma associação com atividades rudimentares, diante das quais os trabalhadores são expostos à intoxicações por agrotóxicos, por exemplo. Assim, reverbera-se a possibilidade de que tais indivíduos sejam acometidos por múltiplos problemas de saúde, refletindo no seu adoecimento. A partir dessa premissa, a pesquisa realizada circunscreve a Comunidade Rural de Santa Isabel, localizada no 1º. Distrito do município de São Lourenço do Sul/RS, com vistas a analisar a percepção dos agricultores quanto ao seu próprio processo de adoecimento. Para tanto, aplicou-se uma investigação qualitativa e exploratória, cujos dados foram coletados por meio de um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada aplicada junto a dez famílias. Este instrumento de coleta foi composto por indagações que oportunizassem identificar aspectos relacionados ao perfil de cada membro da família quanto a práticas, percepções e comportamentos orientados à saúde e ao adoecimento. As entrevistas ocorreram presencialmente in loco nas residências dos respondentes, entre os dias 05 e 17 de maio de 2022, e foram analisadas mediante análise qualitativa de conteúdo. Os resultados obtidos permitiram a compreensão de elementos concernentes à dimensão de adoecimento da população rural objeto de estudo, evidenciando que, de maneira geral, esta desconhece a responsabilidade de cada indivíduo no que diz respeito às suas atribuições e responsabilidades quanto a própria saúde e adoecimento. Assim, frente ao contato oportunizado e aos resultados provenientes do estudo, constatou-se que os trabalhadores do meio rural, na maioria das vezes, não procuram os serviços de saúde e seus recursos em função do excesso de trabalho e da localização geográfica, bem como pela falta de conhecimento e esclarecimentos referentes à melhoria de sua própria qualidade de vida. Portanto, a pesquisa realizada contribui no sentido de elucidar a população investigada a pertinência de buscar uma assistência preventiva nos serviços de saúde. Também salienta-se acerca da relevância do acolhimento por parte dos profissionais da área da saúde àquele trabalhador rural, dispondo-lhe atenção e salientando o quão importante é a sua vinda no que diz respeito à prevenção e a busca precoce por recursos que evitariam inúmeros casos de adoecimento.

Health care for the rural population triggers an association with rudimentary activities, in which workers are exposed to pesticide poisoning, for example. Thus, the possibility that such individuals are affected by multiple health problems is reverberated, reflecting on their illness. From this premise, the research carried out circumscribes the Rural Community of Santa Isabel, located in the 1st. District of the municipality of São Lourenço do Sul/RS, with a view to analyzing the perception of farmers regarding their own illness process. Therefore, a qualitative and exploratory investigation was applied, whose data were collected through a semi-structured interview script applied to ten families. This collection instrument was composed of questions that provided the opportunity to identify aspects related to the profile of each family member in terms of practices, perceptions and behaviors oriented to health and illness. The interviews took place in person in loco at the respondents' homes, between May 5th and 17th, 2022, and were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results obtained allowed the understanding of elements concerning the dimension of illness of the rural population object of study, showing that, in general, it is unaware of the responsibility of each individual with regard to their attributions and responsibilities regarding their own health and illness. Thus, in view of the opportunistic contact and the results from the study, it was found that rural workers, in most cases, do not seek health services and their resources due to excessive work and geographic location, as well as due to the lack of knowledge and clarification regarding the improvement of their own quality of life. Therefore, the research carried out contributes towards clarifying to the investigated population the pertinence of seeking preventive care in health services. It is also highlighted about the relevance of the reception by health professionals to that rural worker, giving him attention and stressing how important his arrival is with regard to prevention and the early search for resources that would avoid countless cases of illness.
