Nowadays, the automatic processes of identification has become popular and necessary for providing information about people, animals or goods. There are lots of identification methods used, in particular, the barcode system because of its low cost. However, some applications, when security of information and memory space are required, needs other type of solutions, such as the radio frequency identification (RFID). An application where the use of RFID becomes advantageous is in the quality control of products that must be strictly kept within a certain range of temperatures, which is known as “The Cold Chain”. We can easily integrate different kinds of sensors inside an RFID chip. Thus, the number of manufacturers of RFID chips keeps growing. This fact creates large efforts to regulate the operation of RFID circuits by International Organizations. Modulations, delays and frame formats are some of the points discussed and standardized by ISO/IEC 18000-2. This document regulates the chip operation of low frequency circuits. In this regard, the design of a digital module inside an RF circuit contained a temperature sensor becomes indispensable. This module must receive and interpret several commands in addition to possible information delivery to the readers. This work proposes, develops, test, synthesizes, and validates the structure of a digital module which controls the actions of an RFID tag with an integrated temperature sensor. This module, and the whole circuit, is in strictly accordance with ISO/IEC 18000-2, ensuring compatibility with many manufacturers available. ...
