dc.description.abstract | This paper aims at introducing the complex interpersonal relationship between the characters Mozart and Salieri in Peter Shaffer's Amadeus (1979), while establishing their relative positions as “man” and “genius”in the plot. It also offers a brief discussion of the characters's quest for some larger truth, and of the father-son conflict existing in the play — two recurrrent themes in the author's earlier works, namely The Royal Hunt of the Sun (1964) and Equus (1973). | en |
